The principal photography was done over the course of two-days, which took place at the Bladium Sports Complex in Alameda, Ca.

  • Higher Circle Case Study Video: Fabrica Social

    Social Business is a new model that can seem a bit ambiguous and confusing when first presented. Together, Higher Circle and Fabrica Social are paving the way for this new model, which can quite literally change the shape of the planet. We were approached in May of this year to create a short form digital documentary highlighting the amazing work these two companies are creating together. This short film was shot over the course of five days in Mexico City, in the remote village of Santa Catarina in rural Mexico. We had the opportunity to experience the work and lives of the women who are creating these amazing, one-of-a-kind works of art and textiles. We're currently developing a longer, more involved story-based documentary featuring a more in-depth look at the women behind this project.

  • Between Action and Idea: A Collaboration Between ODC Theater and SFAI

    In the fall of 2013, ODC Theater's Dance Odyssey Project facilitated a dialogue between advanced painting students from the San Francisco Art Institute and choreographer Scott Wells. Students participated in a movement workshop with Wells, engaged in a discussion about artistic practices before returning to their studio and producing works in response to the workshop. The exhibition Between Action and Idea was curated from this body of work and opened in December 2013 at ODC Theater. Film created by Bloom Studios. More at makebloom.com.

    Ed Drew has been featured in the likes of the New Yorker, The Guardian, The Daily Dot, and many others for his critically acclaimed Tin Type photo series that he completed while stationed in Afghanistan. We were hired by the San Francisco Art Institute to create a short piece on his work and how SFAI has helped cultivate his creative mindset.

    The Makerie is a creative retreat in Colorado that we partnered with to bring some of the in-person experience into your home. Nothing can quite capture the experience of staying in cozy Colorado cabins, eating communal meals, and learning together around a table. However, we traveled to the Makerie and the eight classes we filmed with some of their instructors are the next best thing to being there in person.

  • The Museum of Craft and Design Moves into a New Home

    After a long search for a new home, the Museum of Craft and Design moves into a permanent home in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. It opens its doors on Saturday April 6, 2013 with inaugural exhibits by artist and sculptor Michael Cooper; textile artist Arline Fisch; and ceramicist Rebecca Hutchinson.

    We were asked by NIKE to create this short promotional piece highlighting three new types of shoes for use on outdoor soccer surfaces. We did all post-production and animation in-house. The principal photography was done over the course of two-days, which took place at the Bladium Sports Complex in Alameda, Ca.

  • Higher Circle Case Study Video: Fabrica Social

    Social Business is a new model that can seem a bit ambiguous and confusing when first presented. Together, Higher Circle and Fabrica Social are paving the way for this new model, which can quite literally change the shape of the planet. We were approached in May of this year to create a short form digital documentary highlighting the amazing work these two companies are creating together. This short film was shot over the course of five days in Mexico City, in the remote village of Santa Catarina in rural Mexico. We had the opportunity to experience the work and lives of the women who are creating these amazing, one-of-a-kind works of art and textiles. We're currently developing a longer, more involved story-based documentary featuring a more in-depth look at the women behind this project.

  • Between Action and Idea: A Collaboration Between ODC Theater and SFAI

    In the fall of 2013, ODC Theater's Dance Odyssey Project facilitated a dialogue between advanced painting students from the San Francisco Art Institute and choreographer Scott Wells. Students participated in a movement workshop with Wells, engaged in a discussion about artistic practices before returning to their studio and producing works in response to the workshop. The exhibition Between Action and Idea was curated from this body of work and opened in December 2013 at ODC Theater. Film created by Bloom Studios. More at makebloom.com.

  • San Francisco Art Institute: Ed Drew

    Ed Drew has been featured in the likes of the New Yorker, The Guardian, The Daily Dot, and many others for his critically acclaimed Tin Type photo series that he completed while stationed in Afghanistan. We were hired by the San Francisco Art Institute to create a short piece on his work and how SFAI has helped cultivate his creative mindset.

  • The Makerie

    The Makerie is a creative retreat in Colorado that we partnered with to bring some of the in-person experience into your home. Nothing can quite capture the experience of staying in cozy Colorado cabins, eating communal meals, and learning together around a table. However, we traveled to the Makerie and the eight classes we filmed with some of their instructors are the next best thing to being there in person.

  • The Museum of Craft and Design Moves into a New Home

    After a long search for a new home, the Museum of Craft and Design moves into a permanent home in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. It opens its doors on Saturday April 6, 2013 with inaugural exhibits by artist and sculptor Michael Cooper; textile artist Arline Fisch; and ceramicist Rebecca Hutchinson.
